Hello everyone,
Public Service Announcement: a Vortex objective lens cap was found along our route. Please let me know if it’s yours and I’ll arrange to get it to you.
The confusing fall warblers are arriving! Several were observed and identified by birders who have done their homework. Chimney Swifts and Barn Swallows are still here but I’m sure they’ll be departing for warmer climates soon.
Two Cooper’s Hawks were perched on the dome of the MSI Space Center and were being harassed by a murder of crows. The crows were relentless. We found a Juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron in Osaka’s usual spot in the Japanese Garden but later found that Osaka was hanging out along the shoreline. Betty, who visits the area daily and observes the herons closely tells us that Osaka usually arrives around 9:00am when the waterfall is turned on.
