Seasons Greeting everyone,
What a foggy day it was! The park looked beautiful even though we couldn’t see across the lagoons at first. We had a respectable number of species for such a gloomy day.
We can always count on our Great Blue Herons, even though we didn’t spot one until we were in the meadow. A Hairy Woodpecker was a very nice find. A European Starling was doing an amazing imitation of a Monk Parakeet and made us look around carefully to make sure that the sound was indeed coming from the Starling and not a visiting parakeet.
A muskrat was swimming briskly across the south end of the lagoon and our resident American Kestrel was there to wish us Seasons Greetings. Such a beautiful bird!
