As many know, Craig Stettner was a beloved Chicago Audubon board member, Harper College professor, and an environmentalist who inspired all who knew him, including students, friends, family, and colleagues. Tragically, Craig died while swimming in Costa Rica on Christmas Day, 2018, with his family.
In an effort to memorialize the important work Craig performed as a naturalist and conservationist, a rare moth found in Costa Rica, Copiopteryx semiramis, is now also known by its new common name as Stettner’s Silk Moth.
